About“Hitottabi”
Dear Friends who're interested in Japan from all over the world,
Welcome to Hitottabi website! The website offers you a heartwarming journey to experience a real live Japan.
Hitottabi is a term we have coined from Japanese. The word denotes "Hito" which means "human" in Japanese, and "tabi" means "journey".
It also sounds like "Hitottobi", meaning "jump".
The website introduce you to a "journey" filled with "human touch",
which will enable us to "jump" the gap in culture and customs from country to country.
Throughout the experience, a volunteer navigator will tell you what she/he knows and thinks about Japan.
Please tell me about yourself as well.
We're very happy if the trip will be a cross-cultural experience and a chance to give you a hint for your better life.

皆さんこんにちは！
この「ひとったびウェブ」は、
日本以外の文化圏の方に、より身近な形で、生の日本を体験してもらうことを目的に、
様々な情報を提供するウェブサイトです。
「ひとったびウェブ」の名称は、
「ひと」が出会い、小さな「たび」を通じて、
お互いの文化を「ひとっとび」する体験を提供したいとの思いから名づけました。
そのような機会を通じて、多くの方々に日本文化を広く知ってもらうだけでなく、
私たち日本人自身も、より深く日本や世界を知るきっかけとなり、
温かなコミュニケーションと相互理解が生まれることを願っています。
